The Butter and Bloom aims to make recipes readable, navigable and useful for as many home cooks as possible.

What the site supports

The site uses descriptive page headings, keyboard-accessible links and controls, a skip link, alternative text for meaningful images, labelled navigation and print-friendly recipe layouts. Text and controls are designed to remain usable across phone, tablet and desktop screens.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing practice. New pages and features are reviewed for keyboard use, readable structure, descriptive links and mobile layout. Automated checks can help find issues, but they do not replace feedback from people using assistive technology.

If a recipe, form or control is difficult to use, please identify the page, device or assistive technology and the problem you encountered. Jo will review the issue and try to provide the information in another format while it is being addressed.
